Still alot of heat after stage 1 upgrade
Just bought a 2014 road king beck in October. It was new and bone stock. Rode it for a little while and thought man the right side gets really hot. Talked to the dealer and they said this was normal because of the stock catalytic converter and I should do the stage 1 upgrade.
A lot of $$ so I thought I would try some heat deflector 1st. Installed a set of the Kuruakyn heat deflector and little change so I save the $$ for the stage 1 upgrade.
So after a lot of research and reading many posts here I pulled the trigger on the following:
Went for a 200 mile ride today and the bike still runs hot.
Is there anything else I can try to reduce the heat coming off the exhaust?
Thinking an oil cooler might help but thought I would post here to get some thoughts before I head down that route.
Thanks

- Arlen Ness Big Sucker Air Cleaner with the stock cover
- Rush Ceramic head pipe
- Kuryakyn Crusher Slip-Ons.
- Screaming Eagle Pro Tuner
- Bike tuned by the dealer

You aren't getting rid of the heat. You have a 103" heat pump sitting between your legs. Honestly, the heat isn't that much worse in the summer...If the tune is good from your dealer, you are about as good as you are gonna get.

Not all tunes are created equal...... Its my opinion when you get a tune from the dealer you are getting a preloaded map and some guy puts it on the dyno and plays with it for a little bit. Of course thats not every dealers dyno guy but a lot I'd bet.
Go to a Independent Dyno guy with a good rep. In florida I'm sure you have a few. Doc is spoke of highly. They can do a custum tune that can minimize heat and have your bike run right
Just my opinion
