at home abs repairs ARE possible
Been having an issue with my front brake. Lever will be extreamly hard to pull until you squeeze it hard enough to "break free". It would work normal until I shut off and restart the bike or activate abs. I would then have to "break free" the lever again. I figured out the abs module was bad by loosening the banjo bolt on the inlet of the module and squeezing the brake. It pulled easy. Loosened the outlet of the module and squeezed, lever was hard. I picked up a used module on ebay for $70 off a 2013 roadie with very low miles (ton of them on ebay). I'm guessing since the module was used it had fluid in all the places you need the Digital Tech for. I filled the module inlets and outlets with fluid, and installed it. Pumped the pedal and lever with the reservoir caps off till no air was present. Put the caps on. Pumped up the brakes and bled at the module inlet by cracking the banjo bolts. Then did the same on the module outlet. Last I bled at calipers. Mega air here. End result it good firm brakes. ABS functions normally. Best part... saved about $800.
