Default One pipe blue the other not?

I just came back from a trip and I found out that my right pipe is blue, big time. However, the left one is clean with no discoloration.

Can somebody give me some explanation on what is going on here and how can it be fixed?

I know that the rear cylinder run hotter beacuse has less cooling air, however, the right pipe is for the front cylinder, I am right?

I have a 2002 Police Road King with 12,000 miles.

I put new Samson Slip On pipes 2,000 miles ago. I did update the module download becase the peolpe of my local Harley dealer said was not needed.

We rode today full throtle, about 85 to 105 miles with no stop for one hour.

Thank you

If you still have the stock HD pipes off the cylinder with the cross over, what you describe is normal. Next time you start your bike put your hand over the left side and you will notice not as much pressure or heat off that side, it's a function of the way the Piping works. Good for the torque that our bikes have.

Most of your exh is going out r/h side if still stock.better flowing slipons will help as well as removing restriction inside pipe at tranny side cover areaat the wye area.

roadking2002,

I noticed the same thing on my 06 RK Cl. The tip end of the right pipe (a python slip-on) is very slightly blued. Figured I clean it the next time I washed the scooter.

Thank you everyone for your notes.

I research this issue and there is normal for all pipes.
The only solution here is to get a module that allow to "fine tune" the injection module.

Now I am looking for a good price/benefit option. H-D makes one but too expensive.

The right Samson slip-on on my 2000 RK did the same thing. The next time I had to remove it to replace the back tire, I swapped the mufflers left-right and now they are evenly discolored.

Good idea deaded. I had not concidered switching from one side to the other. I just use blue job, and the pipes come back good as new. Mind you, it takes a lot of rubbing and time, but my bike is worth it.

Well, I finally washed the bike and the right rear slip-on is as it was the day I bought it. The blue came right off. No problem at all.
