Default wheel weight (probably stupid question)

getting ready to have a new front tire installed.
Will balance with dynabeads.

Question is ... I just noticed these weights .. they are painted the same black as the rim .. are they balancing weights for the rim or tire ?
should I rip them off ?
They go equally all the way around at this point.

2012 ultra

PS -- how many oz dynabeads do you guys run ?
Thanks for any replies.'

No need for these weights when running beads so tear them off and be prepared for the chore of cleaning the adhesive off. I use "Ride On" so I can't tell you how much to use on the beads.

Look on their website but I believe I put 3 oz in mine. Just make sure they slop the soap inside the tire as this will possibly make the beads clump together and then not work.

===============

Yup,remove the wheel wt's and i rec Ride-On instead of the beads too.

Thats because the beads only ballance the ires and that it,but the ride on can also seal up to a 1/4" puncture (tubeless tire) and it also quiets/dampens tire noise which sometimes happens as the tread wears down or by tread design too which i experienced 1st hand.

I have run the ride on in last 3 sets of motorcycle tires i have had with great results every time and no slimy mess inside tires when time to change either, the ride only coats the inside of the tire carcus which get checked with old tire.

It costs a few $$ then the beads but its well worth the additional cost for the piece of mind protection from punctures it provides sfaety wise along with it also keeping the tires quiet during their complete srv'c life too either if which the beads cant do .

It's avail from many venders on ebay .

The ride-on is going in the brand new set of Mich Comndr 2's that are going on my 09 FLHTCU this spring.

BTW,i live in NY where i ride in 95-100+ deg in summer and ride in cooler temp like 40deg deg too and have no issues with the ride on in either case.

thanks everyone.... I appreciate your time and advice !
I will remove the weights ....
Have never heard of Ride-On but it looks interesting.
I run beads in my VTX but I think I'll try Ride-On in the harley tire.

Ride on is the way to go...

I've got a tire and wheel warranty, so I don't use it.... but if I didn't, it would for sure be in there.

I've used dyna beads. They worked great. I've since switched to ride on which works great also. Haven't tested the puncture sealing capability yet and with luck I won't have to but it's nice to know my tire won't go flat at highway speeds if I pick up a nail.
