Default CVO fender on 14 sg questions

I went to install a yaffe stealth 3 plate on my bike yesterday. 2014 sg Daytona blue pearl.... First off it doesn't cover the blinker bar recess and the big round hole in center of fender completely. 2nd the plate sits kinda far away from the fender. Was kinda surprised by this. 3rd, Then after a few minutes I noticed a crack in the paint by one of the recessed spots. And a bubble under the paint. I'm guessing from the factory they over tightened the blinker bar bolt and caused this.

I am now contemplating buying a used cvo fender (only) and having it painted. So those recessed spots are gone and I can mount the plate lower.

I am wondering if my sg fascia will bolt right up to a cvo fender?

Other option is to buy a full cvo fender kit from HD, only issue I have is I don't really like the 2014 cvo lights that much. I really like the 2013 light and fascia setup.

If I went with a cvo fender kit, can I use the 09 to 13 cvo setup on my 2014 sg?

Thanks.

The 09-13 CVO kit will not work with out some modifications.

Dang, what is the difference between the 09 to 13 and the 14 up? I thought the fenders and mounting points were the same. I know the fascia looks different.

The fenders mount the same but old style CVO lights hit the new saddlebag support brackets. I'm using them on my bike but it took quite a bit of grinding and shimming.

Oh ok. Well then that pretty much means I will just grab a cvo fender and reuse my sg fascia.. Thanks for the info. I was really wanting to do the 09-13 cvo setup.

For some reason it won't let me see the image u posted. Just out of curiosity, what part did u have to grind and shim??

Take a look at this fender set up. It uses the CVO style lights you like and will work on your bike. http://topshopcarbon.com/fenders/min...cvo-style.html
