Default EZ Pass in the fairing

This may have been covered already, but my search isn't working on my mobile browser right now, so I apologize if it's an old question.

Has any one stuck their EZ Pass transponder inside of the batwing fairing with some heavy duty Velcro? Seams that it should work right through it.

I have a suction cup mount which was great until I got on the turnpike and really got on it up to about 90-95 and it came flying off... Luckily it hit my chest and fell in my lap. Having it in the fairing would also prevent theft. Just seams like a simple solution to a couple of problems... I know I can slap it in and go hit the turnpike to test it, just looking for anyone who may have tried it already and had good or bad results.

No batwing, mine is attached to the underside of the left bag lid. Works great for me but I have been told it won't always register there if riding two up.

The lid is a good place too! Easier access... But yeah I could see there being a problem with a passenger leg in the way.

Well, that's good. If it transmits through the lid, the fairing should not be a problem at all.

i put mine in the windshield bag. or, put it in my front pocket till the ride is over. i use one on multiple vehicles so a semi permanent mount to the inside of the fairing would be impractical. i would think it should work....i thought about that in the last thread i saw about mounting locations.

Yeah, I thought about a windshield bag... But I don't have one, and not sure I want to put one on the 14 with the vent. And yes I could put it in my pocket, but I really want a set it and forget solution... Sometimes I don't know I'm going to be encountering tools until we hit them.

I use one in the car too, but I think I'm going to just get a second transponder that is just for the bike.

About 6 inches down from the windshield directly under the eagle. Hasn't skipped a beat.
