Default 02 RKC Rear Fender Replacement

Guys, looking for some general info on what is involved in a straight swap of my rear fender on the bike in my signature pic, 02 RKC. The same, new stock fender is replacing a dented one. Of course this involves the wiring harness for brake/turn lights, rear fender bracket that was cracked, and the side supports that go up on the exterior of each side of the fender. I have received all the major parts. For those who have done it what can I expect? Any specific tips going into it? Thanks.

I have the service manual and have read the few threads that touch on the topic already.

it's as simple as it seems. pull the rear wheel if you want to make it even easier. just keep the spacers and hardware organized.

clean the inside portion of the fender with acetone before applying double sided tape to hold the wiring harness. also loosen the rear saddle bag support brackets. re-align everything after the fender is installed and square

I've done it on an earlier bike with the wheel still in place, which helps keep the fender close to where it will finally be, once fastened in place. It may be easier to remove the rear wheel to remove the old one, because you have better visibility and access to see what you're doing.
