2014 Air cleaner gasket

Just bought a 2014 air cleaner set up to put on my 2011 Road Glide. Installed it over the weekend and wondering if there should be a gasket between the air filter and backing plate. The 2011 had a gasket but it looks like the 2014 set up has a rubber seal that goes all the way through the backing plate.

The round rubber seal is the gasket.
