We're they the switch wires or different wires I found some upper wires going to light and horn switches with the black sheathing worn but wires were intact. Glad to know some had same issues. Seems like when I accelerate hard the volume will go to zero and sometimes pause the song. Has been driving me nuts for a year.

I assume they were radio control wires since repairing the breaks in the insulation completely resolved the issue. It was a very small break that I overlooked multiple times. I would try opening the controls up and manipulate the wires with the radio on to see if you can cause the radio to respond. If so, isolate and wrap each wire, put it back together, and try it then.

I ohmed switch in bike and the push in function does not have connection and the up goes up to .6 ohm then down to .1. The new switch goes to .4 than down to.1 ohm. The old switch in down position read just like new switch.
