Buds product is a first class product...
Does everything it's claimed to do and more...

For me I saw exceptionally reduced temps in my motor the first time I road it...
I liked the idea of the videos where he shot the cooler with a shot gun...very impressive...
Do that with one of the front mounted ones and see what happens...With the others you have to be cautious with road debres damaging it and put you out of commission perhaps omn a road trip...

Installation is a very clean install...
Parts are very well made and powder coated to match If that's what you want...
Or he offers polished of just a natural Finnish on the adapter...

We spend a lot for trinkets of chrome to make our beloved bikes stand out...
We may lean towards doing something nice that going to help the motor...
This should be one of them...yes it's twice the cost but it's such a well made product it's well worth it...

I installed one on my wife's 06 Ultra when it was still my bike. It's a quality product that is and does exactly what the web site claims. I have no complaints about it. It is expensive, but you always pay for a good product. I haven't spent the money to put one on my 2012 Ultra for two reasons. One, it came with a factory installed oil cooler and two, because I installed an FCS fan from Wards Parts Werks and have seen excellent cooling results from the fan. On a side note Bud is great to deal with. He will answer any questions you have if you give him a call. I think it's a quality product made by a guy who believes in good customer service.

One more benefit of the oil bud is it offsets the oil filter away from the engine just enough to make filter changes much easier

Thanks, seems like a real quality item. With all the discounts/savings on so many other items I bought, I just may spring for the OilBud. I also have the wards Fan and it runs quite often so maybe a oil cooler should be added.

I just envisioned the wife unloading a car full and saying "look at all the money I saved !!" LOL

SunCruise I also have Wards fans I think they run all the time once they kick on while under way. I just replaced his thermal snap switch with his new style I have not run it yet. My oil temp usually runs at 209 at the oil filter with both units

$700 for an oil cooler. Not on my wish list.

I just posted this in another thread, but just want to contribute incase someone is interested in the feedback from real world use of the product. I installed the Oil Bud cooler on my bike ('07 FLHX) 3 years ago when I did my 107" upgrade. I don't have all the scientific knowledge/results when it comes to flow rates and dissipation factors, but I will relay my observations/experience with this product (good and bad) with over 20K miles of use. Since installation of the oil bud I have not had one issue with leaks or road debris damage. There are 3 cooling elements on the oil bud (Touring model) so it has a lot of surface area to cool vs the single element units ( I used the factory cooler prior). The cooling elements on the oil bud are more rugged because they are not the radiator type with veins and fins, it is more like a solid heat sync with passages and high points. Air passes over & under the cooling elements, not through like a radiator type.

Likes:
- It really cools (my observed oil temps with a full time oil temp gauge are on average 30 degrees cooler)
- It has a built in thermostat (180*), so it lets the engine warm up normal on cooler days
- It's hidden, not real important, but it looks cleaner and can run a chin spoiler if you so desire
- It's reliable (have not had any issues or leak since installed 3 years ago)

Dislikes:
- It does get in the way if you have to move/remove floorboard mounts, but it can be moved out of the way with extra steps and it's tight/cramped work.
- You can't mount the oil scavenger nipple adapter to the oil pan because the second pan plug is blocked by the rear/3rd cooling element

Notes:
- If you run a full-time oil temp gauge, you have to put the sending unit in the available port on the oil bud oil filter adapter as the second pan plug/port is blocked by the rear/3rd cooling element

Bulk oil reservoir, AKA pan temperature, is the industry standard for reading oil temp, mounting the temp sensor in the oil filter adapter will read 15-30 degrees cooler than the actual pan temp.

I run the Oil Bud now and love it. I have run the Jagg in the past and feel the Oil Bud cools better. The Jagg is good quality, but not as good as the Oil Bud IMHO.
