Is your garage floor metal? Last I checked cement doesn't conduct electricity, but what do I know I've only done electrical work for 3 years.[8D]

Actually yes you can. Just about everything can conduct electricity. Just have to have a large difference of potential...

Hey! That is a MYTH about putting the battery on the concrete and loosing the charge. The battery case is plastic and plastic does NOT transfer any current at all. Even the "Mythbusters" tested and busted this myth! Looks like back to science class for some...

Rusty is 110% correct, urban legend, myth or ignorance, call it what you want, storing batteries on concrete has 0 effect,my brother works for Interstate and they store 1000's of batteries on the ground,it's plastic, basic electricity 101,plastics does not transfer electricity.

ORIGINAL: garcon

A neighbor came over to look at my RoadKing and said I should put a piece of rubber under the stand when it is parked in the garage. He said that the jiffy stand will slowly drain the battery acting as a ground. Sounds kind of strange to me, but ?????

I was told that same thing when I picked up my RoadKing that is why I changed my jiffy stand from the metal one to a wooden one. If this is not truethen should I change it back.

All I know is when my bike sets on the jiffy stand very long I start to get stir crazy, maybe the rubber under the stand would help?

And if you don't put them little plastic plug blocks on the wall plugs, all the electricity will leak out..

The discharge in the battery is really caused by wearing the aluminum foil hat.
