How many black bikes are on the road. Wish you could have something that stands out a little.Who else is unhappy with the color limitations of Harley-blue.jpg

Not me, I like black. Sure beats the hell out of purple.

Black is the most popular color, one reason being at no extra cost.

could always get a Kawasaki or a time machine to 1953

Seriously, HD has a $300,000,000 paint facility, and great quality paint jobs are coming out of there.
The color options vary every 6 months or so and the best color ( black) is always available

Traditionally, chemistry limited the color selections available*, HD generally would offer about 5 colors with perhaps a 1-year-custom option. Above is a Glamour Green on the DeLuxe Sport Solo option package

* the old thing about Fords: "you can have any color as long as it is black" is based on teh fact that a black laquer would dry in one day- other colors could take 2 or 3 days to dry. so a production decision

This is my first Harley that is not black. I know black is the fastest color, but damn, this Superior Blue caught my eye. In the sun, it is the best color I have seen, in my opinion.

I can usually find a color on every model that I really like. Some more than others of course. My biggest gripe is on the CVO models (not that I can afford one), but I think the paint and graphics are pretty gaudy for the most part. I'm sure they appeal to some, but I think they should offer something a little more subtle as well. Same for the wide glides. Unless you want vivid black, you have to get flames. I would have bought one, but the flames killed it for me. I chose denim black for my first bike. I've always loved the look of that paint on any bike that had it. I saw it on the 2014 fat Bob and knew I had to have it.

At least with Harley you get some color options.
I had plenty colors to pick from when I got the Limited.
I liked a lot of the Limited's 2014 colors, don't care for as many of the 2015 colors.
Everyone had different tastes, they'll never please everybody for every model

Indian and Victory only had one or two choices besides black for the bikes I looked at. Probably similar for the Japanese brands, as well as the Europeans.

Does any other motorcycle company offer as many color choices?

I only posted recently that in the unlikely event that I could afford a new bike there isn't a touring colour combo at present that I like. I know that all the paint schemes look fabulous in the right light, but none are irresistible this year.

I know the black is real popular the only other new color I like is the superior blue. I got a 14 Daytona Blue Ultra, it really is nice in the sun,
