Default One last compensator question

Gonna finish installing my SE compensator tonight after work. My service manual says the primary holds 38 oz., but I've noticed some have said to add 45 oz to the primary after compensator install. Why the difference? I didn't remove the clutch, just ground a tiny amount of material off. Thanks.

The plastic do hickey that gets epoxied to the cover is supposed to be there to splash oil up on the compensator. But many people, including myself don't trust that system 100% so a little bit extra oil is just good insurance to keep everything well lubricated.

Its the same concept as filling something for the first time verses re-filling it where there is some still in there.
It's always takes more when you are filling something dry... has nothing to do with the new compensator.

As far as the primary, never mind how many ounces.
Stand the bike upright and fill it until the oil level just touches the edge of the clutch diaphragm spring.
NO EXTRA OIL... Overfilling can cause rough clutch engagement, incomplete disengagement, clutch drag and/or difficulty in finding neutral at engine idle
