Default Tour Pak Ultra Brace...Worth $80 Bucks ???

I really like the idea of the Ultra Brace for the Tour Pak, but I think it's way overpriced.

Am I missing something here, or is it built well enough to support that kind of price?

I know they're a little different, but you can get a Lid Support Brace from the hardware Store for like 10 bucks.

Pricey ... Yep! I too thought that a hardware store and some ingenuity would be in order.

Larry,

I think I'm gonna check into the Hardware Store thing, I don't mind spending money for quality, but $80.00 for what's basically a Lid Support Hinge with different attachment plates, is hard to justify IMO.

I'll let ya know if I figure something out.

where i live, the local hardware store was no help. so i just sucked it up and got the ultra brace.

is it pricey? sure it is. but it is a whole lot less that having to replace the tourpack bottom (esp. cvo ones) because of the stock wire broke.

Actually it does, I know everything for our bikes is expensive, but $80.00 for a thin metal hinge just seems crazy expensive.

I might end up paying the price if I can't come up with an alternative, we'll see.

You would still have the same issues as the wire.
