i broke the tabs off the back where it snaps in. got the bike tore down and off to paint.
Are you changing bars as well? Tabs or no tabs, if your changing bars and using the rubbers on your switch cap, it's likely that plate isn't gonna sit flush anyway. At least that's been my experience.
