need help. air cleaner oil
#12
A couple people mentioned over filling with oil. How does that cause oil to come out of the breather? It's a dry sump system. The oil tank is just a reservoir. The oil pump pumps the oil out of the reservoir and through the motor and it returns to the tank.
I like the article about blow by. Blaming it on riding to easy. I've always been told and read there's 2 schools of thought on breaking in an engine. Run the ***** off it to seat the rings better, or baby it so it doesn't get damaged in it's early life. I always believed in running it and seating the rings. I have no blow by in any of my bikes.

My 2005 Road King did that.. first time was caused by cracks in the hoses coming out of heads into the breather and when it happened again, my mechanic said it is caused by lugging the engine too much, especially in high gear... He recommended not using 5th gear below 50 MPH.. I put 3000 more miles on it and no more oil in air filter...
