Default Highway pegs symmetry

I scored new 360 mounts AND a new pair of Streamliner pegs at the swap meet yesterday for $100. Yes!

While installing them ( they were kind of a bitch, bolts came with blue loctite and were tough to tighten, and the whole assembly flopping around until it got tight ) I got the height measurement figured out using a taut string tied to either end of the crash bar, and measuring to the top rail.. The pivots though are kind of givin me trouble, I'd like them in the same place, and they're pretty close, I measured from the rear pegs to the center line on the highway pegs' mounting clamps.

I just wondered if there's a technique you guys use to get them equally placed? I'd use a partner to eyeball while installing but no one is around. Lol

EDIT: measured off the frame lowers to furthest point; that seemed to work better than eyeballing it.

Lol. I thought I was the only one. Took me 3 or 4 times of realigning them to get them even.

Well further complicating it was that the Streamliner pegs have yet another bolt that fixes their rotation. So you've got to like, think in 5D. You got the clamp, the angle clicker, the peg up/down, and the rotators that all need to be screwed in and they're all different size hex bolts...GAH... All good now though.. I think. *checks again* I THINK.

Put mine in a rough location snug but not tight, adjusted for comfort position as one leg is longer than other, finished tightening and did not look back or to see if they were position perfect other than they feel good to ride on.

That's one of the reasons I steered away fm the 360-degree pegs...stuck out weird and way too many adjustment points. I have the short angle mounts and kept adjusting/eye-balling until they felt comfortable. Then, my true test, had the wife take a look. She's got a Knack for leveling w/o tools. Made another small tweak and no looking back...

Heard that there was beer-drinking going on before 11 AM there and that folks were drunk by afternoon?

I guess that they have another similar event in September but not so many 1%er's show up for that one?

I was down there once. very impressive, much more so than Sturgis.
The people that go to the swap meet are bikers.

Sturgis is biker element w/a **** load of tourists.
Buy a HD/Sturgis Tshirt and go walk around in Sturgis.
Colorado is a biker event.
That is the difference.

I went with the Kuryakyn Long-Horn peg/mounts.
No regrets.

It takes a little screwing around to get them where you want them
