Default LED Tailight

Looking at the led tail light in the HD catalogue. It says it doesn't fit with the license plate relocation kit. Anyone know why? So if I want the Led tail light I have to stay with the big light bar on the back of my Road King? Is HD forcing me to go to Kuryakyn?

could be as simple as which way the license plate light is arranged.

you can use Krapkin- if that appeals to you.

for a GREAT taillight a BAL is a great way to go- even better if you find one used.

RK owners sometimes get a streetglide type taillight/signals , there are other options.

you may need a converter for turnsignals if you do that...all depends on which parts you choose, and options will vary depending on your model year.

Thanks, I would rather stay with HD but they don't make it easy. I think it might be because the Led light is a "lay down style". Parts guy at HD could not answer my question either. I've tried searching here for the street glide lighting but as you say creates wiring issues....

I fitted a couple of BAL's which are easy to fit, just unscrew the old ones fit the seal and screw in the new ones. Don't look at them too long as they sure are bright!

Ok I did some more searching . Looks like I can use as mentioned above, A 06' - 09' Street Glide turn signal bar. Then order the Lay down led tail light and lay down license plate bracket from the HD catalogue. Seems like a good option, thanks for the reply's

I think I figured it out. The reason the led tail light doesn't work with the relocation kit is because the tail lights have the license plate window in the top of the lens. (Relocate plate to the bottom and no reason for the window on the top of the lens). Pretty simple...the relocation kit has a lamp in the bottom of the turn signal bar.

BAL refers to Bright *** Lights. Stupid name but a great product. You won't regret choosing it.
