I don't know if you can get this stuff where you are, but it will fix it for a very long time! http://damonq.com/red-kote.html

A car came round a corner on my side of the road, I managed to miss the car by sheer luck but laid the bike down, it first appeared that there was just a scratch in the tank but tests at the dealer show a pin hole and Insurance wants to replace tank, trouble is that this then puts cost of repair to high for Insurance Company and they want to write it off. It only has cosmetic damage such as bars, tank, crash bars, windscreen etc and I have way to much money in the bike to let them have it. I actually rode it 100km's after the crash to the repairer and it is fine apart from some bits hanging off it....LOL
I will PM a couple of you about your kind offers, thanks again everyone.
Why not try to buy the bike from them, get a cash settlement, and fix it yourself with take off parts.

Thanks for link Bill O3E, much appreciated.
Yep Road Warrior, taking the settlement and fixing myself is definitely on the list. The Dealer who has the bike at present said he will give me the list they gave the Insurance company so I can source all the parts. Found a screen on EBay for a fraction of the cost and a lot of Gas Tanks, those two items were the biggest costs.
If the bike had any issues apart from the simple bolt off and on stuff things would be different, might even do a new paint while I am at it....LOL

Cost of parts includng tax is $10692.00 NZD about $7600 USD, thats OK but dealer says $3500 to fit them, about 17 hours work he says....bloody good hourly rate....grin
