Everything mkguitar said was 100% correct. Took the words right outta my mouth!
Trade off? The Ultra will be more comfortable for long trips, but the Heritage is SO much better looking. I don't care for fairings & tour pacs; IMHO they ruin the classic lines of the bike. If I gotta take more than my saddlbags can hold, I'm takin' 4 wheels.
Cruisin down the road with some '80s rock kickin is the best.
80s rock is too wimpy. Flock of Seagulls & Thompson Twins--sheesh! If you GOTTA have music, Floyd, Dead,Who,Cream or Zep is better!

Back to the question - yes I have both - plus a couple. Love the Heritage for twisties and just running around, but if I'm travelling or riding 2-up the Ultra is what it's all about. Top heavy - yes - but definitely manageable. Been down - yes - had nothing to do with center of gravity, mine was all my fault over-riding the hills of central Texas and wanting to stop 1000lbs (bike + 2) like it was 300.
