Question Mounting a 09-13 tour pack on a 2004 RK???

I'm looking into getting a tour pack for my 2004 RK. The specific one I like is designed for mounting on an 09-13 bike. How much trouble would it be to adapt this tour pack to the 2-up rack designed for the 97-08 bikes?

Also, there are several aftermarket versions of the tour pack rack for my bike. eBay specials and Mutazu to name a few. Are these comparable in quality to the HD rack? I'd like to get one for less than $200 if I can.

is not the plastic box- it is the mount.

hows about you look into buying the detachable mount kit for your model year.

then put which ever plastic box you get on that?

you can choose HD, aftermarket/ebay....I even saw a BMW buzz by with a pelican case adapted into touring luggage...3 pieces.

Thanks for the reply. I understand it's a matter of the rack fitting the tour pack. I already have the docking hardware on the bike and know I will need to get a 2-up tour pak rack for a 98-08 bike. What I'm wondering is if I would be able to mount a 09-13 tour pack on the 98-08 rack?

yes, you may have to drill a couple of holes..or not.

but basically you are putting a box on a platform.

If you already have the 09+ tourpak then great.

you'll have to sort out some wiring

black is ground

blue is run

red/yel is brakelight

brown and violet are the turns

Ok cool. So all I need to do is drill some holes. Thanks!

No wiring. I'm not getting one with lights on it.
