I'm considering changing out my rear stock fender for a stretched style fender. Not sure which is better, the overlay ones or and actual stretched fender. I have CVO style stretched bags and a 200 rear tire on and want that wide fender to fill in that gap around the bags and exhaust pipes. Any advice or thoughts.
If it was me I know I wouldn't be happy with an overlay. The Harley CVO fender from Kutter is $725 and includes everything, just needs paint. That's the route I'm going. There's tons of nice custom fenders out there but for the price and garantee that the CVO bags will line up I'm stick with the CVO.
i vote replacement fender too, the overlay you've gotta cut half your factory fender off. when i did a fender i sold my factory to help cover the extra cost of the full fender. you also can't go wrong with bad dad. my painter told me it was bar none the best glass he has ever painted

I'm leaning towards going CVO rear fender, but will consider other styles and choices. Wonder if HD offers the CVO in Vivid Black as a p/n.

They use to, I don't believe they do anymore. I would already have it if they did. I'm a big fan of buying pre painted parts, no reasonable painters local for me.
I did the cvo style bags and found a cvo fender and fascia cheap on craigslist. I got a great deal. I would never do an overlay cause to me it looks halfass. Save a little extra and get the real deal.
