Default Battery tender problem

I noticed the battery tender on my 2010 ultra is flashing red. I just put a new battery in last summer. Anybody have an idea what's going on?

new battery "last summer" does not equal "good battery"

check the fuse in your tender cable ( most tender "pigtails" have -and should have a fuse in them)

then checks are:

pull battery ( neg cable first- no sparks that way...and neg cable last on install)

charge battery with charger 2 to 3 amp charge rate for 12 to 20 hours)- then load test at dealer or autozone ( free)

check your cables are clean and tight ( both ends)

if all ok, reinstall and try again...if still flashing red then the tender could be bad.

Bad connection

Look on the back of the Battery Tender and it will tell you what each light phase meaning is. Also clean your connections.

Sometimes my tender gets off to a bad start and the red light flashes. I just unplug the power plug and reconnect, almost always get a normal indication in an hour or so. I have also cleaned the pig tail connections with Q tips and Brasso. An amazing amount of black gunk came out of each plug socket. Since cleaning the plugs, I almost always go to the green maintain light in a short time.

One of my tenders was working well then it started to flash red.
That one went in the garbage after I hooked up the spare one I had.

My tender did the flash and turned out it was the wire to the battery was cut. Typically the red flashing means wire issue.
