Battery tender problem
#3
new battery "last summer" does not equal "good battery"
check the fuse in your tender cable ( most tender "pigtails" have -and should have a fuse in them)
then checks are:
pull battery ( neg cable first- no sparks that way...and neg cable last on install)
charge battery with charger 2 to 3 amp charge rate for 12 to 20 hours)- then load test at dealer or autozone ( free)
check your cables are clean and tight ( both ends)
if all ok, reinstall and try again...if still flashing red then the tender could be bad.

Sometimes my tender gets off to a bad start and the red light flashes. I just unplug the power plug and reconnect, almost always get a normal indication in an hour or so. I have also cleaned the pig tail connections with Q tips and Brasso. An amazing amount of black gunk came out of each plug socket. Since cleaning the plugs, I almost always go to the green maintain light in a short time.
