Default How can you tell your tune is up?

I bought my 07 RKC with 5K mile on it. I'm up to a grand 16,800. What are some signs to tell maybe a tune us in order?

I assume you're talking about a tune-up??

If so, don't worry about it. Spark plugs, if the motor is running right, last a long, long, time. I had 37,000 miles on my 2011 when I traded it in for my 2014. Never touched the plugs. Probably a good idea to replace them around 50,000, but most plugs now days will last 100k miles.

But, if for some reason the bike isn't running right, that's your clue you need to have it checked out. Serious decrease in mpgs is another clue.

If you're talking about the map in your ECM, it shouldn't change.

Changing your spark plug wires are more important than the plugs. Like said above, the plugs can go for 100 K. I change my wires every 20K. They're cheap and easy to change. According to my tuner, it does make a difference.

Some tunes will change the redline on the RPM's that your Engine will turn. If your engine
will go to 6200 RPM it may have a Harley down load or a tune that changed the redline.
