Default Head Pipe on Street Glide

Okay, so I have an 09 Street Glide which has the stock head pipe with Vance and Hines Monster Rounds on there right now. I am looking into buying the Vance and Hines Dresser Duals for it but my current head pipe doesn't have the cat. in it.. My question is, if I am to purchase the new headers would I see much improvement in HP/TQ? or sound?

Any numbers a mod make will depend on your exact set up.. Not many people complain about their duals unless they talk about low end torque.. Some notice a difference some dont

I don't think you'd notice a difference except for sound. Yeah, if you put it on a dyno the torque may drop slightly but not enough for you to tell the difference.

You are probably not going to feel a significant power gain unless you have other motor work done.

A true dual head pipe will a have a different sound than the stock 2-1-2, other than that you probable won't notice a difference.

You will definitely get more sound and HP. Low end torque will likely drop a little but not drasticly. Have you considered a 2-1-2 pipe?

I have the slim line duals on mine and it was a bump in HP/TQ over the stock non cat head pipe.

My neighbor recently did basically the same thing on his 2012 Street Glide...definitely different sound, louder, he has Thunderheader slip-ons...however, initially, it popped on deceleration and he lost low end torque...he went in and had it mapped at the local dealership, regained and exceeded the low end, much less popping...cost a little over $200 for the mapping.

He likes the new sound...whether you do will be up to you.

The only reason why I like the 2-2 is the sound.

I had the dresser duals and Monster Rounds on my 08 SG and loved the sound.
