sounds like the abs is stuck in the self-initialization test, where the abs tests system valves, solenoids. ( this may stop if you apply the brake)

ghost in the machine

are you seeing any trouble codes?

abs light or other dummy lights?

are there any added electrical/electronics to the bike?

the high beam indicator with low beam- is a real mystery as that circuit is hardwired.

Have not seen any Trouble Codes....haven't tried to apply brakes, but that is an idea. Will try it. I have a Cert. Harley Mechanic that wants to take a look but I'll need to get it to them. I'm beginning to run out of ideas.

But thanks.

Same ol', same ol'......applied brakes....front & rear......no changes. unplugged & replugged connections.....no changes.

On a side note, I just installed a trailer hitch on my 4-wheeled vehicle....& ordered & got the electrical connections OEM for the vehicle. Connected them today.........& no lights light up on the trailer. My bad luck continues. No power to the 4-way light connector. Re-checked all connections...still nothing.

You again!

hey just occurs to me that if the filaments in the headlight touch, that would illuminate the high beam indicator with the low beam...pull that bulb out and see if it goes to normal.

In my 25+ years of twisting wrenches I have found 4 things that cause weird problems like this. Aftermarket accessories is one. The other 3 are grounds grounds grounds. This is even more so with electronics. Anything more than a 1 volt drop across a ground will deal you fits. Also as fuelish said the most complex problems usually require the simplest solutions.

Default Still No Help

Got the King to a certified Harley mechanic. Unable to trace the source of the short (if there is one). No codes or anything else displayed on the LCD speedometer. It does not illuminate at all when the battery is hooked up. The ABS Module is the culprit with the whirring sound. The only time it stops is when you pull the fuse, the main fuse or remove the hot lead of the battery.

Looks like I'll just be parking her in my storage until I save enough cash to take her to the HD dealer.

Really disappointed. Only other solution is to check when my Extended Warranty runs out & if that module is covered under it.
