Default Can an old security system still be used?

I bought my 04 RK used and wasn't able to get much info from the seller. The actual owner had passed away. I'm finding out things about the bike every time I work on it. I realized today that it has what appears to be a security system but I wasn't given any fobs with it. Is this security system still usable and can I get fobs for it from the dealership?

That is your turn signal module.

sometimes googling a part number will reveal the secrets.

( kudos for all your recent questions about this bike and what to do with it)

On an older model an alarm can be easily added- I've used "gorilla" brand on a could of bikes- easy install- they have shock and electrical sensors.
but your best bet is an obvious disk lock or 2...a chain and padlock.

We crap. It looks exactly like the alarm system module in all the pictures I've seen with the fobs next to them....

you have the TSM ( turn signal module).

the TSSM ( extra S for Security) may be added- but that's beyond my knowledge.

so this could lead to another thread where we find out

( but don't ask kirby delauter ! )

I've got a spare module sitting in the basement, shoot me a PM if you're interested.

As to your basic question, yes it can be done, and yes any of the older fobs will work. Btdt, which is how I learned I already had the right TSSM in the first place in my 04 RK.

Otherwise, the complete kits show up fairly regularly on ebay.

Just did this swap on my 04 RK. You might have the security version. Can't quite tell from the picture. They look the same but the security version has a FCC tag. Due to the radio receiver. If not it is an easy swap. Bought my TSSM and fob separately on ebay.
