Default Removing instrument cluster

I'm changing my handlebars on a 1985 FLHTC. I can't seem to be able to get the trip reset **** off. I tried every Allen wrench I have and none seem to fit. First off is it an Allen wrench and what size. Next question is there anything else I should know before I proceed?? Thnx

You don't have to remove the inner fairing to change out the bars. Just remove the radio and the little fairing cap over the switch.
I just noticed you're on an 85. maybe you do.
