Default Cruise switches for road king

For road king owners with cruise. Is the on/off switch a toggle type? As in 2 position stays switched on or off? Or is it a momentary 3 position with the switch usually in the middle and pushes one way to on and the other to off?

On my 2012 RK, there are 2 switches to operate the cruise. The one on the left grip is a 2 position cruise on/off. The one on the right is a spring loaded momentary switch for speed set/resume + is normally in the ctr position.

Thanks everyone. The two position is what i thought.

Found a right hand control with set/reset and audio control. Thought I might be able to convert the audio switch to on/off. Won't work.

On my '14, it's a toggle switch. Push in to turn on/off; toggle up/down to speed up or coast...

If the control that you have has the set/resume you could just use that then use one of your nacelle switches to turn the cruise on/off. Or, just wire the cruise to be permanently on and not worry about a switch if both are already used.

I'm thinking about using the accessory switch for on/off. Didn't think about wiring as always on. That's a good idea. Thanks!

Yeah you are just simulating what Glides do...works for them. Their Cruise comes with Right Side control only with a lighted "Cruise" on-off rocker switch to mount in the "Inner Fairing Cap"

You might be able to use that switch with a latching relay. Apply power once...Latched ON. Apply power again...OFF

I dunno. I've only used my cruise once to make sure it worked when I first bought the bike.
