Default brake issues

So about 4 months ago I replaced the rotors on my 06 rk with some polished ones off ebay. At the same time I added new ferodo pads(i think thats right) and chromed calipers. Ever since when I use the front brakes it makes a sound like when you rub your finger around the top of a glass. The slower you get the louder it is. Ive cleaned the rotors, put the anti squeal on the pads and roughed up the service of the pads to get rid of any glazing and nothing helped in any way. Should I go back to some stock rotors or try stock pads? Its been like this for around 3000-4000 miles.

It could be as simple as a result of that combination of rotor and pads. A change of pad brand may cure it, say EBC.

Sounds like a combo of pads and rotors as stated above. Different compounds can make different sounds.

Cleaned everything. I will order some different pads and try that.

I'm a big fan of organic pads. I use EBC pads. The organic pads are soft enough to not damage your nice polished rotors. Plus they are nice and quiet. They still provide the stopping power of any other pad.

That’s called harmonics. Take the pads out and slightly file the leading edge of the pads and apply brake paste to the back of the pads.

My 04 with original rotors and pads did the exact same thing. Embarrassing to say the least. I had plans for the local HD dealer to replace both the pads and rotors for $450. Instead they switched the rotors from one side to the other. Didn't do anything else. $90. All noise gone. Unbelievable, and still gone 5,000 miles later. The only thing is the rotor saw blade pattern runs backwards. Who cares?
