Default Help with a new street glide

Im looking at selling my night train and getting a new street glide, now my issue is having it fit me the right way, my train has carlini apes and extended forward controls, these are a must on the new SG, I hate floor boards, my fathers deluxe has boards and my buddies SG has them with stock bars and I cant a few miles without having to get off, im 6'4" and need my legs stretched out and the stock bars have to be gone immediately and want yaffe bars, also the seat will be either a le pera oe a brawler HD seat. Anyone have this setup already or something close with pics and how the forward controls fit as far as how far they stretch out, I don't have anywhere to sit on one with these mods and its also winter up here as well, thanks.

I also dont like the bars that turn out if you know what I mean, I like my hands to be inline with my arms, not have my hands turned out like the stock deluxe bars do, not sure if im clear in what I mean but that really drives me crazy too because its so uncomfortable.

Have you actually ridden a stock SG yet? There are lots of other differences to take on board!

The Touring bikes have a different riding position than the Softail bikes so regardless, you'll have to adjust. That said, I'm 6-5 and have made adjustments to my bike so that it's comfortable to me. Check out the "Tall" thread in the touring section for ideas. On my bike I moved the boards down forward, and out - much much better. I installed extended pedals. I have 2 seats - Mustang Supertouring for long rides and RSD Enzo for daily use - both move me down and back. The stock seat is actually not bad FYI. I did change out the bars for black versions of stock because once I made all the other changes, the bars worked.

I did ride a buddies stock SG, I just cant deal with the floor boards, my knees are up over the tank and I need my legs stretched out, same on my father deluxe, cant ride it, I also find the stock bars on the street glide very uncomfortable, I love apes, im 6'4" and 285 and hate being cramped up. What other differences are you taking about?

Ive been looking at some forward controls and noticed that some just replace the boards and some are just regular forwards, haven't seen many extended forwards but ill keep looking.

Add highway pegs to the engine guard.

Once you get used to boards, you won't want to lose them.

Red face

I'm about shoulder high to you, so I better understand that you might fit one a bit different to me!
