Default '99 Road King Engine Chrome Kit Suggestions

Hey guys and gals,

Looking to Shine up the Road King's Engine with some Chrome. I cannot find a kit that fits a '99! any suggestions?

Also, if I cannot find a kit, what are the "necessity" pieces that I can buy individually that may fit this year. Thanks in advance

Are you looking for the shroud that goes between the oil fill and tranny, lifter block base covers, etc or are you looking for replacement pieces?

No kit per se, but you could get the chrome oil vent line, chrome oil hose cover, chrome spark plug accent covers, lifter block base covers, transmission shroud cover and oil fill cover.

Go to Kuryakyn's website and you should be able to look up your model and get some ideas from them. Here is the link for your bike:

some of the stuff available is about like taping pie plates to your bike.

think twice about what effect you want and how you are going to get there.

go to bike nights and look at other bikes, pick and choose what you like ( and don't).

ask the owners where they sourced their parts

DO NOT put chrome covers on stuff that has cooling fins--- like your voltage regulator

do not buy anything what says "Live to Ride' on it unless building a 1999 era bad taste tribute show bike.

do think about buying the little chrome toppers which fit on all your exposed allen head bolts...it"ll cost you about $80 at the dealer.
for those of us in hard water areas, mineral deposits collect in all the allen heads...the covers help with that PITA

Not to mention, all those chrome covers make some routine maintenance a longer job than necessary. If you pay for your maintenance, most shops will charge you for the extra time it takes to remove those covers.

A chrome inner primary makes for a nice solid chrome engine area accessory.
