Default Looking for a dash panel extension: 2001 FLHTC

My daughter would like to get her husband a dash panel extension for his 2001 FLHTC due to the seat he has on the bike... when I looked around a couple of years ago, I found a few that either had 'flames' or a 'skull' on it, along with the popular 'smooth chrome'. Now, looking around, I can only find the smooth chrome version.

Anyone have a source for dash panel extensions that I can check out for FLH's?

Thank you.

There's not many choices, although here's another option. Try and find the '07 down Street Glide console assy or the 71288-03a.

From my own experience I never liked the glare I would get when the sun hit my console. Actually wanted to black it out but now have a 7 gallon tank and the only chrome is the gas cap. You might talk to Captain Itch AKA Larry and Isabel and they could make something nice from leather. Just my 02.

My daughter was only looking for the console extension or trim piece, so I finally found a leather version in stock at my local H-D dealer today. (FLHT/FLTR rim Piece, $29.95, #52447-96)

But, if I needed one for my bike, this is the way I would go. Looks a lot more OEM. Thanks for posting the part number... sent it to my daughter to consider. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/fuel-tank-console

That's what I used on my '03 EG Classic. I first used the extension piece. It looked like crap on the bike.
