On top of which, why spend the money on the HD premium shocks and lowering blocks? By the time you do that, you're well on you're way (money-wise) to a pair of much better shocks.

they also say that their lowering kit is not compatible with the hard bags and premium hand adjustable shocks....

If you want to know go test ride a 14 or newer SGS, they have the lower hand adjustable shocks stock. I use them and love them, I also am 100% disabled Vet for back and neck so I feel your pain trying to get a comfortable ride.

Thanks for all the advice gents (and for spending my money) I will go with the 13's It seems quite telling that (at least according to my research) the 12's are quite readily available as used items and I have not found any used 13's for sale.

I am not concerned about raising the bike and inch as I have 34 inch inseams and could do with a bit more height. Also the slammed look is not my thing.

I figure that if they don't work for me I can always sell them and probably only loose a hundred bucks or so.

It's only money........

You would think that after all of the complaining about have rough these bikes ride now they would do a better job with the rear shock situation.

I had the 12" H-D hand adjustable shocks on my 2011 RGC. Although the bike did seem to handle better especially in the curves....the ride was very jarring and harsh just like the standard air shocks were
