Default 2004 FLHTPI Apes

I am going to be installing apes on my 04 electra glide it is an old cop bike. I was wondering if anyone has done this and has any ideas about switching out the controls to a regular set. The switches are different and I would like to have the radio controls on the bars. Has anyone done this or is the harness totally different? Which also brings me to my next question if I can figure this out what will be the best route to get the bar controls to work with a aftermarket radio? Any advice would be great. And any other tips tricks or ideas for a cop bike would be awesome too. Thanks

Anything is doable with time and some basic knowledge.. I have no knowledge of what controls cop bikes have vs a stock bike but I'd assume you could always get a used set of controls and start from there

I agree anything thing is possible. The difference between the controls is in the throttle side it has a pursuit switch instead of radio controls which control the auxiliary lights now. And on the clutch side where the horn switch should be I have a siren switch that does nothing now and my horn switch is where the radio control should be.

Just get a set of standard switches and a service manual...I'd get a set for an Ultra which would allow a couple extra switches (CB etc). As far as aftermarket radio controls check out Biketronics as their service and product is stellar.
