Did you use heli-coils in the primary cover tin?

Unless they changed something recently, HD primaries are still aluminum, No?

Time serts are great but costly to fix something so small a Heli-coil should work fine

Here's the part I am referring to -

top

bottom

It's designed specifically for thinner metals whereas I believe (which means I could be mistaken) heli-coils and Time-Certs are meant to be used in thicker material.

I had a magnesium block on a Porsche a while back. It had Time-Certs to hold in the head studs, as they were prone to pulling out. In that case, the hole depth just exceeded the Time-Cert length.

Just heli-coil the damn thing. It'll be fine.

Generic reference to sheet metal douche bag. He's referring to the primary cover that the derby cover screws onto. Maybe you screw your derby cover to an inner primary on your awesome 2008 , "light years ahead", of a new SG. But most of use simply bolt them on to the outer TIN.

Get over the fact that I put you in your place on a different thread. Lol.

I stand corrected - I believe you are right. But, I still think it's not deep enough for a heli-coil. I could be wrong as stated earlier.
