Default Best design for a well hidden sound system

OK.. here is what I am trying to achieve... I LOVE the old school Road King Classic look with spokes and whitewalls, along with retro style tank badges and fishtail exhaust tips.... however, I also enjoy the modern convenience of having some music on occasion for a long trip. As my2010 Road King slowly transitions into a Road King Classic, I want to start planning how to best conceal or at least have with a very low profile, some music configuration. I'm open to your thoughts. I do NOT need a full stereo and simply plan to use an Ipod or mp3 player.

Thanks all

Ear buds. Stereos on roadkings look like garbage and sound worse.

Agreed... that's why I said no stereo (just an ipod in saddlebag), and concealed. Small bullet style speakers somewhere very inconspicuously hidden was my goal.

I have a rk myself. Ear buds... No stereo will give you same sound quality at speed and anything you put on will take away from classic looks of kings.
I tries a set of those "bar mount" speakers years ago and had trouble hearing them at idle. Lol

All them little "pod" speakers sound terrible and can't really be hidden. The only real option is lid speakers and I'm not really a fan of them as main/only speakers, plus they will need power so add an amp in the bags. If ya can stand lowers, a combo of lower and lid speakers can sound good.

Was thinking about another option some time ago. You could try a 3/4 helmet (Bell Custom 500?) with good quality helmet speakers. My goal was to connect to my phone via bluetooth, but wired to an Apple Shuffle would be pretty workable as well.

The phone option would allow hearing google maps voice directions as a bonus.

Several options out there - TORX speakers with a BT adapter, UClear kit (would add comms with other bikes if they have a BT system).

Can't answer to quality/sound as I never finished the project - traded the RK for an SGS.

I use a helmet with a sena smh10 put into it for music. Awesome quality and no fiddling with ear buds or ruining the look of the road king

You could put this on the bike: http://www.bossaudio.com/marine/mari...-audio-mc600b/

I put the MC500 on the wife's RK but it has cables and a volume ****. I don't think the 600 has those as it's bluetooth.

I am in the same boat with my RKC. I am considering lowers with speakers but will probably go with a Sena headset and BT. How do you feel about lowers.
