I can't answer for IC, but if it is a mechanical problem I bet they can fix it. The reason I posted was to see if you had checked the mounts and other things inside the fairing first? I mean it has been close to 6 years now (and my memory does slip from time to time) but I am pretty sure they even changed those mounts in '10 or '11. Anyway for a skipping CD, I would first check that, now if when the bike is not running but the CD skips, then that is definitely an IC problem [IC in this post is not integrated circuit (although it could be in the later) it is Iron Cross].

This I don't believe!

We would never say "that's the way it is" and we would certainly never return a unit to a customer without a functioning CD unit...and if by some chance that happened, we would certainly take care of it.

Please give us a call when you can
This I do believe. I've ALWAYS read good replies concerning Iron Cross!

Thanks for replying. I just changed the inner fairing a week ago and inspected all the brackets, all were good. the skipping started around a month or so before this so its probably the unit.

Default Skipping CD

My radio was skipping when the CD was playing. (No sound from the speakers) Iron Crossed repaired the HK radio finding a cracked circuit board most likely caused by broken fairing mounting brackets that had occurred in the past. Also there is a Harley Service Bulletin that suggests the two front handle bar clamp bolts can hit the bottom of the radio when severe bumps are experienced. The Service Bulletin advises to replace the two front bolts with special bolts that have flatter heads to clear the radio. Harley dealers have the Service Bulletin and can order the bolts. The bolts were replaced and the radio has been repaired by Iron Cross. The unit is now working properly.

They repaired mine, and it works like new and the turn around was quick. No complaints here...Oh and I still use CDs. too much good music to not use it.

10-4 on the larger head bolts. Like I said, I had mine repaired by IRC this summer and couldn't be happier. They are the ones that told me about the service bulletin also (larger handlebar clamp bolt heads) and not Harley Davidson. I checked mine and yes, they did need replacing. Thank you Iron Cross. Excellent repair and exceptional customer service.

Here is a copy of the service bulletin people are referring to.
