8-place multilock connectors for rear fender lights
Hey all, I'm hoping someone here can help me find some connectors to use for the rear fender lights. I'd like to find a place to get the male and female connectors for the rear fender light harness underneath the seat on a Road King. I'm putting on a lighted license plate frame and need to tie into the brake and turn signal lights. I thought if I could find the same connectors as the existing connector under the seat I could make my own splice and just plug it into the existing 8-place multilock connectors. It should be connector 7 in the schematics of the 07 touring service manual. Any direction would be helpfull

The sockets and pins are removable from the AMP connectors using a pick tool. I recently worked on mine when I installed HD saddlebag lid spoilers/LED's and wired the LED's to the connector under the seat instead of the accessory plug. I removed the necessary sockets from the AMP connectors, cut-off the OEM connector, then joined the LED wire with the existing wire and assembled both in a single socket and reinserted the socket in the connector. So, you don't need new housings/connectors; just remove the wires with their socket/pin attachedfrom the existing connectors, and use new sockets/pins; then reinsert them in the existing housing/connector. Presumably, you want to splice your license plate wiring into the existing turn signal and brake light wiring.
Your service manual Appendix will describehow to remove the sockets/pins. Since you will only need a couple, I wouldbuy them from the dealer; I have in the past and found they typically have them in stock. At the dealer, check the '07 Touring partsbook so you can purchase the correctsockets or pins. Sorry, I don't have the part nos. available.
Also, I found a very useful and inexpensive crimping tool at Fry'sElectronics for $7.99. It's a Philmore WS26 and will do a really nice job of crimping the "horseshoe" ofboth the sockets and pins. The Snap-On crimping tool suggested in the Service Manual is about$300.00.
