I've never really put much thought into the suspension on any of my Touring bikes. I just don't see what can be gained from this. I've raced dirt bikes and quads for years and the suspension is where the biggest gains (to make you faster) can be had...but on a Touring bike???

I guess I need to ride one that is setup with an after-market set of shocks to become a believer.

Maybe a different part number but the rear shocks are the same.

My brothers CVO limited came with the standard air shocks. 40k on a bike and he did not get the hand adjustable.

Yes, there are lots of changes but the rear suspension remains unchanged since 2009.

I'll know soon enough. If it doesn't improve any, my old ones go back on Ebay and I'll probably be out twenty bucks.

The 2014+ model air shocks DO have a new part number, I don't get why some keep saying they are the same, seems like some feel they look the same so they must BE the same. HD has mad changes to the shocks a number of times over the years and other than the sticker with the part number you'd never know it because visually the are identical - shoot, they don't even look that different from the ones Honda put on the first Goldwing.

Like I said earlier, Harley changed most of the non-vehicle specific part numbers in the last couple of years. The parts are the same. They just went to a new system...

If that were true - why haven't they changed all the numbers? Seems to me they are only changing the system on NEW parts.

And they perform about the same as the 1970's version too!

All the best,
