Default Cost to have front end parts chromed vs. buying new parts

Can't find a search string that will give me my answer.

I bought the chrome front end kit for my 2012 FLHX. I still have the stock parts that were removed.

My buddy has a 2010 FLTRX. Pretty sure my stock parts would fit his bike. I suggested he could have them, get them chromed and installed. Assuming installation costs would be the same, any idea how much having the stock parts chromed would cost as compared to buying the kit? The kit is $472 from Kutter.

And, if it's a significant savings, any suggestions for a location, either someplace worthwhile to send them to or someplace local to New England to have them done, would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

There are three vendors that people use - Ricks, ***** Shiney and Impress. All run about the same - about $150-200 for the legs alone. The kit includes things that will run another hundred or so. There are a lot of threads comparing the three vendors. I used Ricks a year ago and have had no problems.

Many years ago I brought some parts to a chrome shop just south of Providence RI. Don't remember the name or know if they are still there. Google?

With the HD kit you will get new seals and bushings.

Those should be the only parts you need to purchase in addition to chrome legs when doing a chrome exchange.

We offer the fork legs normally for $195 exchange with free shipping. You will also find our quality to be superior to HD as we polish the entire leg front and back, which HD does not do on theirs.
