Screaming Eagle Touring Mufflers
Any body out there have any expiernce with this one. I have a 00 FLHT. Standard, carburated.Stage 1 air filter , carb hop up kit and Harley performance mufflers with turn down end caps. Sounds nice around town, but just got back form a 1500 mile ride. I'm tired of the ear plugs and the noise, so I put the stock mufflers back on, too quiet. I'm thinking of going to the S.E. Touring Mufflers Pt# 65259-00. I want a little louder than stock mufflers, I want it to breathe a little, but not so hard on the ears. Any body out there have these mufflers on your bike or off if you diden't like them. What do you think? Thanks Randy

I know a guy that had the tour mufflers on his 05 EG. They were too quite. I have the SE performance slip on mufflers on my 05 Ultra and love em. Mine have the slashcut tips, the sound goes straight out the back. They have a great sound IMHO. They are not so loud that you can't enjoy the radio while riding, but they do rumble pretty good.

RE: Screaming Eagle Touring Mufflers
On my '02, the SE's are too loud for me.
I rode a 4700 mile, 15 day vacation, and didn't use the radio much because even with the headphones on, I had to turn the vollume up so much that it was very uncomfortable, and a PIA concentrating through the exhaust noise, trying to hear the music.
I had every intention of putting stockers on for long trips, but with the SE upgrades done to the bike I was told it wouldn't run right.
Let me know how your choice works out!.......I'm looking.

Frank,
I have been told that as long as the only other thing you have done to the Ultra, is the SE Air Cleaner and Remap, then putting the stock pipes back on won't hurt a thing. Should run fine from what I am told. I am planning on taking the SE IIs off of my 05 Road Glide and putting the stock pipes back on.

I have the performance touring mufflers on my bike with the fishtail end caps. I like them. Louder than stock but not as loud as SEII's. Was thinking of going louder but lot's of citiies here in So Call are starting to ticket loud pipes so I will probably stay with these.
