It's a header pipe that is totally covered by heat shields. What am I missing here?

apparently some have never seen a head pipe with a couple hundred or even 1000s of miles on it. Not the prettiest thing in the world I assure you I don't care who the manufacturer is.

Here's what you need to concern yourself with. CHROME HEAT SHIELDS

make sure before you start the bike after exhaust install that you completely wipe down the chrome shields with something as simple as Windex making them all nice and purdy. Get your greasy paw prints off the chrome otherwise it might just be there forever once it gets hot.

I don't think you are missing anything. I sure don't see the issue either.

Default Thanks for the answers!

I appreciate the constructive replies and those who took the time to answer, even the "what am I missing?" reply that shows he DID miss it! I've come to expect the occasional flamer. Fuel Moto, you went the extra distance and put up a video for those of us who are interested in undertaking a new project and learning about our bikes. Glad there are some of us who don't know everything!

We have just released a new video that covers the complete install of the Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe on 2009-2015 FLH models. It goes over everything start to finish from removing the factory exhaust to installing the Jackpot pipes and heat shields. The video can be viewed here:
Outstanding! I'll be undertaking this install within a few weeks. Perfect timing for this video!
