WOW - light up your day/nite - SILVERSTARS on an '05 Ultra - SIMPLE upgrade
[&o]OK friends,
Without spending a fortune for HID lights (~$500), this is ABSOLUTELY the next best thing to really improve your lighting/lumens.
Your headlight AND spot/passing lamps will shine like the sun .
And the BEST part is, there is NO ADDITIONAL wattage or current draw from the stock setup. No relays. No melting wires......
These are not blue lights, but more like super bright white lights (4000K). Very noticeable in daylight and you'll have more light at night.
I researchedthis topic on forum for hours/days - the more I looked into it, the more confusing it got.
Be careful - there are many many erroneous comments and posts on this subject in the forum. Misleading, but not deliberately.
All bikes are different, this is EXACTLY how to do it on an '05 ULTRA.
HEADLIGHT:
This one is a breeze - get a Silverstar H4ST- that's it.$20. Direct replacement.
H4 SilverStar HeadlightHigh Performance Halogen Headlight - Dual filament for both high beam and low beam - For Motorcycle Use - part number: H4ST
Low 910 +/- 10%; High 1500 +/- 10%
Low 55watts High 60watts~4000K (wattage same as stock)

SPOT/PASSING LAMPS:
There are a slew of experts and DIY's on the forum with all kinds of suggestions here because there are so many different scoots.
Iresearched the Silverstars specs, called themandwent to the dealer for a little help tooand finally got it all figured out.
For an '05 Ultra, the passing lamps are sealed beams - they gotta go period. Chuck 'em.
Buy these lampsfrom Harley -#68348-05 = $60. (I think '06's and '07's may already have this lamp???)
Yes kinda pricey but WORTH IT!!! Wiring "plug and play" adapters are included too.
You won't have to cut/splice any wires, rubber boots, gaskets.... nothing funky - straight upbulb swap. Simple. Piece of cake.
Just twist and remove the stock GE 881L bulb in these lamps-it is designed to be replaceable. Chuck it.
Buy Silverstar 880ST's ~ $20 each.THEY FIT PERFECTLY. Exact match.THAT IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
880 SilverStar Fog lightHigh Performance Halogen Fog light - part number: 880ST
565 27watts ~4000K (wattage same as stock)
