Default 06 Street Glide Stereo problem

Need some help with my stock HK stereo. When riding it auto mutes, everything works on the stereo but the volume automatically goes down to mute. I'm not good with my hands and my indy doesn't do stereos. Any thoughts, anybody know a good stereo person in LA area?

Sorry, no help on a shop but you might look into upgrading that old thing.

If you're looking to get your HK fixed Iron Cross Audio is the way to go for repair! Very good turn around and they know what they are doing. Give them a call for a quote.

Do you think the problem is the head unit or possibly a faulty in the wiring?

I've read a lotta good things about Iron Cross Audio...you should go to their web site, and look at the various options to upgrade the original HK radio...or, for the same price, maybe a little more, get a more modern, better quality radio...

No CB, the stereo was working fine then one just started auto muting. Will work at a stop sometimes but once I start rolling the volume goes down to mute. Strange

Thanks for both the tip on Iron Cross Audio and Biketronics, would hate to take out the head unit for repair or replacement only to find out it was a short in the wires making it auto mute! Guess if the HK is shot will have to replace with something else any thoughts!

Stock HK radios are famous for cracked circuit boards. Sounds like your problem??? Iron cross can fix the unit. Biketronices sells great upgrades for the system. Many good stereo shops do Harley stereo work. Check around...
