Default Paint inner fairing without removing it?

My inner fairing has faded pretty bad in some places. Is it possible to strip off the outer fairing, remove the gauges etc and spray the inner in place? I've looked at some instructions on how to remove the whole thing, but I'm not sure I can do it.

Man, if I can remove my inner fairing, so can you. And I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. I even removed it while enjoying some whiskey. Just take your time. The step by step tutorial is spot on.

It is mainly time consuming, nothing more.
take lots of photos when removing. This will help you a lot when putting it back on.

I personally wouldn't classify the removal as easy but it's not difficult. When I removed mine, I read the sticky about a dozen times, took pictures each step and then used color tape and numbered each harness. So, once I removed a harness, I put a piece of tape on each end and numbered it. So when I had to reinstall, obviously the two pieces with # 3 on them had to be connected.

And, if you at the sticky, starting on page 21, I posted a few questions. Within minutes, guys here quickly responded with answers. For me, the most challenging part was re-installing the ignition. But, there's a great video on Youtube which fully explains how to do it.

Again, it's not terribly difficult to remove and then reinstall it. It just takes time and patience.

Pretty simple to remove the fairing, both Road Glide as well as Batwing. A simpler route if you are not too picky is just use high gloss shoe polish.

Izzo it's really not that bad. took my stock off the first time and replaced with painted in less than 2 hours. Just mark your connectors with painters tape so you know where everything plugs back in. easy stuff, just time consuming.
