Great pics! I come thru there to go home after a day on the Parkway pretty often. You ever stay at that Inn? Always wondered what the place is like.

 

I never stayed over night up there because it's only an hour and half from my home. I forgot to mention, we rode on route 74A to Asheville. That route will make your heart race and soil your pants. It consists of very technical, tight turns, Switchbacks, tight twistys, some sweeping curves. Not for the less adventurous. My ribs are killing me right now as she was digging her nails in me through the entire ride. And I'm sure she has no voice today because she screamed during the entire ride. I can't say that I enjoyed that route and I was unable to get any pictures because there's no where to stop.

 

Coincidentally, I rode through there just cruising around on Thursday. Beautiful area.

Love riding to Lake Lure! I've been three or four times this year and there's not a bad road around there, IMHO. Highway 9 from Bat Cave to Black Mountain is awesome and you can take another road off 9 to Old Fort. Lot's of places to eat and drink a beer or two keeps me coming back there.
