Here is a pic of my police bike. It's still a work in progress, but I enjoy messing with it. I kept the air seat, added some paint and a sticker to the air tank and moved it into the saddle bag. I bought the Mustang passenger seat, added docking hardware, and bought a Streetglide backrest off EBAY, so everything comes on and off easily. I keep thinking I want a different seat because of looks, but always think I should keep it after a long ride, you can stack some miles on with that thing. I also changed out the turn signals and added Monster Ovals. Do yourself a favor and buy the Police Supplemental Service Manual because the wiring harness is different than the civilian bikes. I used my siren switches for running lights and garage door opener. Your bike should have come with more charging, oil cooler, ABS, and run flat tires (and mmcbeat is correct that run flats are rated for solo riding only).
I recommend Retiredpolicebikes as well.

You can do anything to a cop bike that you could do to any of the other touring bikes. Good luck, and have fun with it.
