Not sure about the valve, it's slightly taller than older versions of the cover to accommodate oil separator paths, only uses 4 bolts instead of 6. Mine is venting directly to atmosphere, I've routed hose back behind fender fascia.

Installed the new HD cover on my 114, no reed valve but has oil separator baffle in it. Was easy to install, just screws behind the cylinder are a bear to get out. JMO but I think makes for a cleaner looking job than doing with the air cleaner, I ran a hose up around the ABS module and installed a small filter on the end, can not even notice it unless looking for it.

Not sure, but quite a few have done it now with success. Man, I have to say, I would have bought it had it been around when I bought my Trask!

My next step is to completely leave out the breathers when I install my new set of heads.
